Motorola Fire XT comes with Android Gingerbread preloaded on it and it’s a sleek smartphone from Motorola. If you’ve purchased this smartphone or are looking to get one, you now have one more reason to get it. With all due thanks to the developers, the device now has a root method that allows you to root your Motorola Fire XT, install root-only apps and eventually flash a custom recovery image. Sounds interesting? huh. Let us show you how you can get the most out of your device by rooting it:by

1. This will void the warranty of your device. However, you can reinstate the warranty by unrooting your device if there’s any unrooting procedure available.
2. This should work on Windows based PCs only.
II. Downloading Required Files:

Root Package (Download link’s given in the first post)
III. Rooting the Motorola Fire XT:
1. Place the Root Package archive onto your Desktop.
2. Extract files from the archive over to your Desktop.
3. Extract the archives you got from root package as well to your Desktop.
4. Double-click on
SUTLR file and install it on your PC.
5. Once it’s been installed, launch it on your PC.
6. Click on
Next in the program.
7. Choose the
FXX_PR3_NV.xml file available in
Patch Motorola Fire XT folder on your Desktop.
8. Head to
Menu>>Settings>>Applications on your device and enable the
Unknown sources option.
9. Enable the USB debugging option as well by heading to
Menu>>Settings>>Applications>>Development>>USB debugging.
10. Plug in your device to your PC using the USB cable.
11. Hit
Next in the SUTLR program and it’ll begin flashing the file on your device.
12. Your device should reboot several times during the process.
13. Once flashing’s done, reboot your device.
14. Launch the
SuperOneClick app available on your Desktop.
15. Hit
Root and it’ll start rooting your device.
16. Once you’re rooted, reboot your device.
17. And you’re all done!
Congrats! Your Motorola Fire XT has been successfully rooted and you can confirm the same by simply installing the Root Checker app!
