I. Before You Begin:

2. Make sure your device is charged at least 60% for an uninterrupted process.

III. Relocking Bootloader of the HTC Vivid:
1. Download and place both the files onto your Desktop.
2. Extract files from the ADBFastbootRecovery ZIP archive to your Desktop.
3. Turn OFF your device using the Power button.
4. Reboot the device into bootloader mode. Simply press and hold the Volume DOWN+Power buttons together and you should enter the bootloader mode.
5. Select the Fastboot option from bootloader menu.
6. Connect the device to your PC using the USB cable.
7. Open a Command Prompt Window on your Desktop by pressing and holding the Shift key on your keyboard and right-clicking on any empty area on the screen, then choose the Open command window here option.
8. Type in the following command into the Command Prompt Window:
fastboot oem lock
9. Your bootloader’s now relocked. Enter the following command to reboot your device:
fastboot reboot
10. You’re done now with the bootloader relocking process.

IV. Unrooting the HTC Vivid:
1. Connect the device to your PC using the USB cable. Make sure you can transfer the files fro and to your smartphone.
2. Transfer the Stock ROM file to the root folder of your phone’s SD card.
3. Disconnect the device from your PC after the file is successfully transferred.
4. Turn OFF the device.
5. Reboot the device into bootloader mode. To do so, press and hold the Volume DOWN+Power buttons together.
6. You should get a prompt on your screen asking you if you want to flash the Stock ROM file. Choose Yes and go ahead.
7. Reboot the device after you have flashed the Stock ROM file.
8. You are now unrooted !
Your phone’s now back to the stock firmware with stock recovery and no root access.
